Massage therapy, Lymphatic drainage, Myofascial Release, Scar tissue Work

Healing for every body. Gentle, restorative bodywork supporting recovery, mobility, lymphatic health, and healing with a focus on postpartum care, cesarean rehabilitation, breast cancer treatment, and surgical recovery.

Areas of focus

Postpartum

While many people think of prenatal massage, postpartum care is just as important—if not more so. Your body goes through significant change during pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood, and postpartum massage can support both physical recovery and emotional wellbeing during this transition. Using gentle manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), fascial techniques, and therapeutic massage, I help reduce swelling, improve circulation, ease tension from pregnancy and breastfeeding, and support your body as it heals and regains strength.

Breast cancer rehab

Breast cancer massage and rehabilitation is a gentle, supportive approach designed to reduce pain, improve mobility, and support lymphatic function after surgery, radiation, or medical treatment. Using manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), fascial techniques, and targeted soft-tissue work, treatment helps reduce swelling and discomfort, improve circulation, and restore movement through the chest, shoulder, and surrounding tissues. Gentle scar and myofascial work can help release restrictions, improve tissue mobility, and ease tension patterns that affect posture and range of motion.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a hands-on manual therapy that targets the fascia — the connective tissue surrounding muscles, organs and joints — to reduce tension, restore mobility and alleviate pain. The therapist applies sustained, gentle pressure and stretching to areas of restricted fascia, encouraging the tissue to soften and lengthen and improving hydration and glide between layers. Because fascial restrictions can develop from injury, surgery, poor posture or chronic stress, myofascial release addresses both local symptoms and the broader patterns of tension that perpetuate dysfunction.

Scar tissue massage

Scar tissue massage is a targeted manual therapy that helps soften and remodel fibrous tissue formed after surgery, injury, or inflammation; by using gentle, sustained pressure and specific movements. This encourages collagen fibres to realign more parallel to the skin, reduces adhesions between layers, improves local circulation and lymphatic drainage, and restores mobility and sensation in the area. It can decrease tightness, pain, numbness and restricted range of motion around the scar.

ABOUT

Felicity Heaslip, RMT

Welcome, I’m Felicity. I have a keen interest in Manual Lymph Drainage and am certified through the Vodder School of Manual Lymph Drainage. My practice focuses on rehabilitation, helping people return to function after chest surgery and Caesarean surgery. I have also completed continuing education in chest surgery rehabilitation, myofascial techniques and visceral manipulation.

I graduated from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2015. Outside of the treatment room, you’ll usually find me pottering in my garden, cycling around the city, cooking something delicious, or enjoying the outdoors. I was born and raised in Ireland and moved to Vancouver in 2011.
